You may view your front door simply as a utility - as a way in and out. However, your front door is the perfect place to both welcome your guests and express your own style and creativity. Here are a few ways to make your door stand out.
- Style: The first aspect to choose is the style. Do you go with traditional or a modern look that pops? A cottage or bungalow style? Choose a style based on your taste and on what will fit in the with design of your home.
- Color: Certain colors fit better with certain styles. A traditional door tends to look better with a more traditional color like black, navy, or gray. With a modern door, you can push the envelope with your color - even with something as bright as lime green or magenta.
- Bells & Whistles: You can dramatically change your door with a few less thought of details. How about a door knocker or a new handle? Does it make sense to display your house number? Be creative with the font!
- Finishing touches: Make sure to add the special touches that complete an entryway. Add a doormat and perhaps a bench. A planter or two can add the perfect finish.
